Making a Difference: Outstanding Career and Networking Prospects
School of Information graduates go on to an extraordinary range of Information Age careers. Recent graduates include an archivist with the Houston Grand Opera, an interaction designer with IDEO, a head librarian with the Blegen Library in Athens, an information architect with Covisint, a senior business analyst with AT Kearney ... the list goes on.
The SI Career Services Office helps you with career counseling and placement assistance from the time you enter the program (including assistance finding part-time employment while you're a student) until graduation. And beyond. You can read more about
where our graduates go in our Web site's Careers section.
The School of Information also supports an online network of minority alumni to help current students, alumni, and the School at large address diversity issues.
This network of minority alumni is linked to the School's Student-Alumni Network, which connects you with alumni in similar career fields or geographic regions for job or internship information. You can search the networking database and initiate contact with a registered alum.
The University of Michigan hosts a rich array of minority student organizations, academic units that study the history and culture of underrepresented groups, and professional officers devoted to enhancing the diversity of the U-M experience. A comprehensive list of these resources has been assembled by
Students of Color of Rackham (SCOR) → and can be found on its Web site.
